Design Process Steps

Concept for salon by AJID

STEP 1: INTERVIEW

STEP 2: CONCEPT SELECTION

After an initial interview to discuss the requirements for the project and your wishes, AJID will develop a few concepts for the general design direction. Once we settle on a direction we are onto the next step.

STEP 3: SPACE PLANNING

If the space to be designed is not new construction, AJID will take measurements of your space and then develop a few space plan options for you to choose from. This step can take 2-3 weeks or more depending on the size of the project.

STEP 4.1: BUDGET

If requested, AJID will itemize every piece in the space plan into a schedule which will show the price per piece or material. Note AJID can work within almost any budget. This step takes a week to two weeks.

STEP 4.2: SOURCING (& MODELING)

Next, AJID will source one to two pieces per item using trade only sites and public sources. Depending on your needs,  AJID can create a 3-D model or simple "Style Page" to show the sourced items together. This gives you a clear sense of the finished project.

STEP 5: PURCHASING

Soon after sourcing, purchasing begins through a combination of AJID, you, and/or the contractor.

STEP 6: CONSTRUCTION / INSTALLATION

Following purchasing, construction begins if necessary. Installation follows construction. Accessorizing typically takes place at the very end, a critical part of the project.
